Clean and leak-free hydraulic systems

Is it really impossible to create a tight hydraulic system? No, it certainly isn’t! Yet the belief that it is impossible still exists and as a consequence the acceptance of hydraulic oil leaks in our surroundings continues to be widespread. It doesn’t have to be that way any more!

There may be several different reasons why a hydraulic system leaks, but some of the causes could be:
> The difficulty in applying the right torque to the nipple joint with the hydraulic hose.
> Vibrations or turning torque which reduce the torque in the joint, meaning leaks are possible.

Another fact to be aware of is that around 75% of the breakdowns in a hydraulic system are due to the presence of some form of dirt in the system itself. It doesn’t have to be that way any more either.

Once again there are many possible causes, but the greatest risk is likely to be that dirt gets into the hydraulic system during the disconnection and – primarily – connection of quick connect couplings. The incorrect use of dust covers in combination with quick connect couplings that are difficult to keep clean is a major reason why dirt ends up in the hydraulic system, something which risks unnecessary wear or major damage as a result.

CEJN can now offer products which significantly reduce both leakage from and dirt in a hydraulic system, thereby cutting the costs of repairs, downtime and greater wear.

WEO Plug-In is a product that completely eliminates problems caused by turning torque, for example, thanks to its ingenious plug-in technology that has been specifically developed for hydraulic hoses. Another way of reducing oil leakage is to use CEJN’s X-series non-drip quick connect couplings and the Multi-X multi coupling which reduce the oil spillage during connection and disconnection by up to 99.99%. The undoubtedly greatest advantage of these couplings is, however, their ability to prevent dirt from entering the system during connection and disconnection. The design makes the coupling and nipple extremely easy to keep clean. When there is a smaller risk of dirt getting into the hydraulic system during connection or disconnection, the machine’s service life increases, leading to lower repair and downtime costs as a result.

By upgrading to WEO Plug-In, Multi-X and CEJN’s non-drip quick connect couplings, you reduce oil leakage as well as the amount of dirt in the hydraulic system, meaning you achieve better overall economy and a cleaner environment too.
